The office of the Ombudsman of Sierra Leone under the leadership of Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah Esq, has on Friday 19th January 2024 opened an Investigation on serious allegations regarding the Sierra Leone Parliament and the Sierra Leone Airport Authority.

The office of the Ombudsman in a press release informed that its attention has been drawn to such articles, adding that it has commenced investigations into the above matters as required by Section 7(a)(ii)and 7(b) of the Ombudsman Act No.2 of 1997 which outlines the functions of the Ombudsman in these types of situations.
The provisions of the section reads as follows: “Section 7(a)(ii) provides that the functions of the Ombudsman are:
“To investigate any administrative act of a prescribed authority in respect of which”:
(ii) Information is received by him from any person or source, otherwise than by complaints, concerning the matters referred to in subparagraph (i)
(a)To take appropriate action to remedy, correct or reverse the act complained of through such means as are fair, proper and effective.”
The office of the Ombudsman promised to update the general public on the outcome of these investigations.
