With support from Breakthrough ACTION, Human and Animal Health partners commonly called One Health have today Wednesday 2nd August concluded a 3 day message review and IEC materials development workshop in Bo, Southern Sieria Leone.
The purpose of the 3 days workshop is part of preparedness plan to prevent and respond to future Viral Hemormoregic Fevers (Lassa Fever and EVD) as well as having revised and harmonised/consistent messages and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials on Lassa Fever and EVD.
The workshop attracted participants from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Ministry of Agriculture, Environment Protection Agency (EPA), the Councils, Inter Religious Council, Local Authorities, Market Wonen Association, Goal SL and Spill Over.
The draft messages/IEC materials will be pre-tested in communities, concerns and inputs from field pretest will be consolidated togetherwith experts inputs and concerns, followed by validation of the materials and dissemination.
This review came at a time when there are threats of Lassa Fever in Bo, Tonkolili, Koinadugu including Ebola Virus.
