Sierra Leone Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh has revealed that since the start of commercial operation of the ‘Waka Fine’ buses on February 2nd, over one million tickets have been purchased by citizens.
He said, on average, the buses experienced safe journeys of twenty-one thousand (21,000) rides every month since it started operation.
He also stated that though there are challenges with other components, their role as a government is to transform mass transit and promise that will deliver to the people of Sierra Leone.
“Over 1 million Waka Fine bus tickets have been purchased by citizens since 2nd of Feb to date. On average, 21,000 riders experience a safe journey every month. Although there are challenges with other components, our goal as a govt is to transform mass transit and #WeWillDeliver”.
A total of fifty (50) ‘Waka Fine) buses were provided to the government of Sierra Leone through a Fifty (50) million-dollar grant from the government of the Peoples Republic of China to help ease transportation constraints in the capital of Freetown
Please sir do tell us the money that this bosses has raised since the started. And how are those in charge has to take up the responsible to make sir these bosses are well handle and countiue working all the time for us as good citizen of our country.
So please tell us weather you guys are going to countiue buying more and more bosses for our country and make more money for development.
People have no choice, because the government use its power to force its citizens to use the Waka fine. It’s a misplacement of the people’s mandate to choose in their freewill. So don’t make it looks like the people are willing to buy the tickets, they were forced to do so. If you want to believe, just allow commercial vehicle to compete with it, and see the people’s choice.
