Parliament of Sierra Leone issued a query notice letter to the Minister of Transport and Aviation demanding an explanation regarding the exclusion of commercial transport plying certain streets in the capital Freetown.
According to the letter, the query is by SO 20 (1) & (2), and the minister is expected to do an oral answer in parliament within ten days.
In the query notice letter, two important questions were put forward to the minister.
The minister will be asked to explain the reasons for the exclusion of other registered tea sport vehicles and ‘Kekes’ from using the main road from Calaba Town to East End Police on the East side of Freetown, and from Siaka Stevens Street to Lumley on the West side of Freetown.
He was also asked to explain the reasons for the increase in transport fares from Le 5.00 as directed by the Ministry of Transport to Le 10.00.
A few weeks back, the government of Sierra Leone introduced 50 new buses to help ease transportation constraints in Freetown but also restricted other commercial vehicles from using certain major streets except the new buses.
In that regard, parliament of Sierra Leone decided to question the transport minister about such a decision.
The government is responsible to give the people a better living conditions but instead the government is making life very difficult for the people. A lot of people are suffering from this transportation problem.
Honestly.. people just do what they want… How they want… and anytime they want… I cannot imagine the additional cost this Boss thing has brought upon us..
Black Man sorry..na laugh…..ya…
“All they care about it themselves and their family members…”
“”But we lef.. all thing na God Hand..”..
Good this is how a responsible parliament should move on just forget about party, there’s no minister or honourable that is able to do for his whole family,so the action is good, keep it up
I really applaud the intervition of Parliament in to this matter, coz this is too much for we the people’s of the nation.
