The Sierra Leone Parliament has sacked over 30 lower cadre workers after signing a contract with a Cleaning Company.
It is reported that the workers were sacked due to their lackadaisical behaviour. It is also reported that the Leadership of the House is vexed because they believe that the building is untidy.
However, a contrasting view for the sacking is that some allege that it is politically motivated. They said that the ruling government sacked the staff because they want to employ loyalists in the various vacant lower cadre positions.
Some are alleging that the House Leadership did not issue any query letters to the staff. This, they said, has stirred up a surprise when they were terminated.
