The Parliamentary Committee on Trade and Industry has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Johnny Kouza, Chief Executive Officer of Accord Logistics, demanding immediate payment of overdue salaries owed to employees of the Sierra Leone State Lottery.
The directive followed complaints from lottery staff who reported months of unpaid wages, prompting lawmakers to question Accord Logistics’ management of its contractual obligations.
Committee Chairperson Hon. Veronica Sesay warned that compliance is non-negotiable. “We are mandating that all outstanding salaries be settled within 24 hours, and we require full details of the joint account held between Accord Logistics and the State Lottery. Failure to comply will have serious consequences,” Hon. Sesay stated.
The Committee also stressed the need for transparency in the management of funds linked to the State Lottery, insisting that Accord Logistics provide all relevant financial information within the same timeframe.
