From June 11th to June 13th, 2024, the Parliament of Sierra Leone will send a delegation to Westminster, hosted by CPA UK in the UK Parliament.

The delegation will comprise members of the Women’s Caucus and newly elected Members of Parliament.

The program aims to address critical issues such as cross-party cooperation and women’s representation in politics. Following the previous year’s election, the percentage of female members doubled to 30%, attributed in part to the enactment of the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Act.

The visit presents an opportunity for dialogue and exchange of ideas between the Sierra Leonean delegation and their UK counterparts. It underscores the importance of fostering collaboration and promoting gender equality in legislative bodies.

Members or peers interested in engaging with the delegation or seeking further information are encouraged to contact Jacob Loose at [email protected]
