The Peace Ambassador of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Amadu Bah, popularly known as King boss LA J, has called on political leaders, parties, and supporters across the country to uphold peace, unity, and mutual respect in the nation’s political discourse.

In a public appeal, the Peace Ambassador emphasized that while political differences are a natural part of democracy, the use of abusive, insulting, and inflammatory language for political purposes risks deepening divisions and sending harmful messages to grassroots communities, often the most affected and those drawn into unrest.

Our democracy can only thrive in an atmosphere of tolerance, civility, and peaceful coexistence,” LA stated. “We must disagree without dehumanizing one another, compete politically without creating enemies, and express our beliefs without attacking those of others.”

He further urged all Sierra Leoneans to respect one another’s beliefs, religions, political affiliations, and choices, and to engage in political debate with civility and responsibility. Leaders, he noted, have a special obligation to ensure their words promote calm, tolerance, and national cohesion.

The Peace Ambassador stressed that Sierra Leone’s peace and stability must always remain above partisan interests, calling for collective commitment to safeguarding national harmony.

LA concluded by reminding citizens that words carry weight and should be used to build, not divide, the nation.
