The final batch of 314 pilgrims from Sierra Leone departed from the Lungi International Airport en route to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

These pilgrims join the earlier group of 640 Muslims who embarked on their journey to perform the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj in the holy city of Mecca.

Sierra Leonean authorities have appointed 12 officials to accompany the pilgrims, ensuring their welfare and providing necessary support throughout the journey.

The Hajj pilgrimage is considered one of the five pillars of Islam and holds great spiritual and cultural importance for Muslims worldwide.

Many Sierra Leonean Muslims, who are financially able, eagerly participate in this annual event. This year, the cost for the entire pilgrimage and ceremony amounted to nearly 6 thousand US Dollars for locals.
