Authorities apprehended the suspects in various locations across the Western Area. Some of those arrested were previously wanted for their involvement in the November 26, 2023 unrest.

Police have not disclosed the number of individuals arrested but pledged to provide further details during their next weekly press briefing.

Meanwhile, Captain John Conteh, a fugitive wanted for his involvement in the failed November 26th coup attempt, was shot dead by police on Wednesday after attempting to escape custody.

Sierraloaded learnt that Conteh was apprehended at his mother’s residence in Mayenkineh, Calaba Town, on Wednesday morning.

Authorities reported that Conteh was being transported to the Jui Detention Center when he attempted to overpower an officer.
