The Bo Division Police have successfully intercepted a shipment of fifty-two (52) bundles and one hundred and thirty-three (133) composed parcels of cannabis sativa in a Toyota familiar vehicle with registration number ATR 223.

The Local Unit Commander of Bo West Division, Chief Superintendent Joseph Kamara, speaking on the operation, said they had intelligence that the vehicle in question contained contraband, especially since the police had not checked it.

He further explained that the police chased the vehicle until they finally succeeded in arresting the vehicle, while the driver ran away. “The vehicle and jamba are packed at the Regional Garage,” He confirmed.

Upon receiving the intelligence, Joseph Kamara confirmed contacting his colleague in Kenema, who aided the operation by sending reinforcements, which led to the successful arrest of the vehicle close to Kenema.

In his contribution, the Local Unit Commander of Kenema Division, Chief Superintendent Alphonzo Fambuleh, emphasized the need for effective coordination, which he noted paved the way for the successful operations. He called on the people to continue to have confidence in the police, as they are there to serve them.

He said the police will not work without the people and therefore encourages citizens to continue to give them vital information, as the police are interested in prompt actions.

The driver refused to brake when ordered by the police, which prompted suspicion that some contraband goods must have been put inside the vehicle,” Kamara Concluded.
