The Sierra Leone Police have taken stringent measures by barricading the residences of former President Ernest Bai Koroma in Freetown. This action came after he was summoned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today for questioning regarding the recent failed coup attempt in the country.

Reports indicate a visible police presence at Koroma’s residences following his invitation to assist in the ongoing investigation. Notably, a video shared on social media by prominent politician Sylvia Blyden displayed a Police Operational Tent erected near the main residence. Blyden emphasized the significant deployment of armed police and soldiers enforcing restrictions on movement in and out of the premises.

Ernest Bai Koroma, who served as president from 2007 to 2018, arrived at the CID accompanied by his legal team, led by Attorney Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara. His cooperation with the police’s investigation into the failed coup attempt marks a pivotal moment in the country’s ongoing efforts to address the recent destabilizing incident.

The heightened security measures around Koroma’s residences underscore the seriousness with which authorities are handling the investigation into the failed coup. As the former president assists the police in their inquiries, the public eagerly awaits further developments in this unfolding situation.
