A local man has been arrested after police recovered twenty-five wraps of a substance believed to be Kush during a targeted operation in Kenema.

The arrest took place on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, at about 20:30 hours during a proactive police operation code-named “Clean Slate” at Borbu Junction.

The operation was carried out by officers of the Kenema Police Division under the leadership of Operations Officer Inspector Mohamed S. Conteh.

According to police officials, the suspect, identified as Daddy Sandy, is a resident of the Borbu Junction area. During the operation, officers reportedly recovered twenty-five wraps of a dried leaf substance suspected to be Kush from his possession.

Police said the suspect and the seized items have been handed over to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) in Kenema for further investigation and appropriate legal action.

Officials of the Kenema Police Division stated that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities within the division.

They emphasized that similar operations will continue as part of measures aimed at addressing the growing concern over illegal drugs in the area. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
