The Sierra Leone Police has launched a manhunt for eight military and police personnel wanted for alleged subversion of the country’s peace.
The Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu said the police is searching for five military (2 middle-level and 3 non-commission personnel) and three police personnel including two constables.
The Security Sector has been discreet with regards arrests made last week on allegations of coup and subversion of peace and stability of the State.
IG Sellu informed the public that 19 security personnel and two civilians are already in police custody assisting with investigation.
On Monday morning, Liberian media reported that former Sierra Leone Police Superintendent, Mohamed ‘Yeatay Yeatay’ Turay has been detained by Liberian Police on allegations of plotting to unseat President Julius Maada Bio.
Some Sierra Leonean army officers were spotted in Liberia working on the extradition of Turay to Sierra Leone.
A press release from the Liberian Government indicated that Turay will be extradited to Sierra Leone for further investigation.
I’m so happy for proactive job done by the security sectors to arrest all those who are eager to create unrest in our country
If your party loses elections
It’s means you should stupidly put your integrity in seal bag
Our country it’s very small that
We should love ourselves and accept any leader that’s declare winner
To remain committed to the country peace and pray for God blessings
May God exposed all the coup plotters. Their evil plans for this nation will not be established.
This parliament should quickly bring back capital punishment for those who don’t want peace in our country. HURRY AND BRING IT BACK.
Kudos to the security sector a job well done
May God Almighty bless our beloved country sierra Leone that who so ever plan evil for her honour and good name shall never know peace in the name of The Almighty Allah Amen
