The members of the Sierra Leone Police Wives Association cordially called upon Her Excellency, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, the First Lady, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, to present their comprehensive work plan for the upcoming year, alongside expressing their gratitude for her support over the years.

During the meeting held at the First Lady’s Office,The President for the association conveyed heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Fatima Maada Bio for her continuous assistance.
The President affirmed the resolute cooperation and collaboration between the police wives and the office of the First Lady.

Highlighting the improvements of police barracks nationwide, the President commended the government for regular rice supplies to the families of police officers. She emphasized the significant impact of this support to the women who are care givers in the homes.

In her address to the delegation, the First Lady expressed her appreciation for the steadfast support of the association towards their husbands and the nation as a whole. She encouraged the attending members to continue their dedicated efforts for the betterment of their households and society.

Furthermore, the First Lady highlighted her advocacy during a United Nations visit, where she successfully campaigned for a globally recognized day, to be celebrated on November 18. She informed the delegation that Sierra Leone plans to commemorate the day and shall be hosting rape victims from around the world.

In this regard, she advised the association to stand up and become keepers and safe guarders of their communities. She told them not to keep silence in this barracks when some one is raped.
As the visit reached its conclusion, the police wives presented a heartfelt gift, crafted by students, as a token of appreciation for the continuous support provided by the First Lady.
