Solomon Jamiru, the Press Secretary, has updated the public on President Julius Maada Bio’s engagement in protecting education from attack in the country.
He said they have concluded a high level conversation which included President Bio, Antonio Guterres the United Nations Secretary General, Denis Francis President of the General Assembly for the 78th session, adding that, there was indeed a need to have such engagement with the leaders taking about the protection of education in the country as it is under attack.
“The reason why Antonio Guterres invited president bio to co-chair with him before now is because he was seen as the champion of foundational learning. We saw what the president is doing in terms of education in the country as 3.1million children in the country are benefiting from the free quality education project” he said.
He said, President Bio called on world leaders to see that education is prioritised and the future of the kids protected at all times.
