The Director of the Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU), Mr. Sulaiman Phoray-Musa, has officially presented the draft of the Independent Management and Functional Review (IMFR) report to the Chief Minister and other key stakeholders at State House.
The report is in line with the Tripartite Recommendations.
In his opening remarks, Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh informed stakeholders that the meeting aims to appraise them on the progress of implementing the tripartite recommendations, as it is the task of the steering committee to provide guidance and supervise the technical committee.
He mentioned that most of the tripartite recommendations have been implemented by the technical committee together with other institutions, such as PSRU, which has the mandate to conduct MFRs for MDAs.
In his presentation the Director stated that the review, which was independently conducted, assessed the structures, functions, and operational effectiveness of the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), Independent Media Commission (IMC), Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC), and the Independent Police Complaints Board (IPCB) to identify reform needs and recommend actionable measures for efficiency and improved performance.
He stated that the draft report will be presented to the Steering Committee on Public Sector Reform and Cabinet once final consultation with all relevant stakeholders is completed.
He further noted that PSRU remains committed to facilitating reforms that enhance transparency, effectiveness, and citizen-centered service delivery across government.
The presentation marks a significant milestone in the Government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening public sector institutions, improving service delivery, and ensuring accountability consistent with national development priorities and Electoral Reforms.
