The notoriety of some members of staff at the Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority. In pilfering resources generated by the establishment is fast becoming alarming. Every effect put in place by senior officials to curb and contain the criminal behaviour of these members are put in place to counter what had been established by authorities of the establishment.

Creating illegal outfits to siphon funds has become the hallmarks for some of these employees that have enriched themselves at the expense of the institution.

The transition from Road Transport Authority to Road Safety Authority was to bring in safety and precautions in driving, the maintenance and protection of lives also of passengers plying both internal and eternal routes in the country and beyond. Whilst authorities are trying to maintain those protocols, protection and safety policies, some other illegal enterprise until; the lid in their operation was tapped and opened.

The shocking activities landed on the public domain. The Road Safety Corp commander, AK Lansana who opened the lid that exposed the illegal activities of those staff members, that are causing significant loss in revenue to the establishment did so in the internet of the establishment and to stop the illegal operation. The quick-fix-money making market was only benefiting a handful of the main players of the racketeering ring. Habib Kamara, Glen Cole and Umarr that are the key operational racketeers at the MIS- Office, may be regretting their engagements, but will have to give further explanation to police and explain the life span of the illegal enterprise that have left the establishment in a standstill for the past couple of days as police at Slatter Terrace stormed the Safety Authority office and collected computers and other gadgets used in the operations. Whilst the Safety Authority is publicizing its successes by changing from ordinary license to Biometric, the group was busy issuing out the old system of license and collection money from drivers whose licenses have expired and are desperate for renewal.

The new license is Biometric, which the Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority has catered for secured and makes available to the noble, but the gang of racketeers is making it difficult for the institution to shelve out the old license. It is estimated that the gang has made significant fortune running into Millions of Leones from the illegal enterprise. Police Investigation is yet to generate sufficient leads as those arrested from the MIS Office, who are considered as the kingpins have refused to carack and give the necessary information to the police.

It has been a long, matured and profitable enterprise that its key operators have been benefiting from financially. Currently the official operation as reported of the Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority is in a state of topsy-turvy and unsettled at this material time when police seemed to have taken over the office. The MIS Office… (Management Information Service) is looked at; as the life wire of the institution that controls data and monitors all incoming and outgoing data and other related internet facilities. The financial damage reportedly estimated has been described as unprecedented proportion. Four economically viable fronts have been targeted, namely the Border Fronts that generates funds for the institution, by issuing out circulation permits to foreign vehicles. The Sea Port Front is another area and the TVR Front.

According to Standard Times Newspaper, the Temporal Vehicle Registration (TVR) certificate and the New Driving license are the areas that have been heavily dominated with fake certificates printed and circulated by members of the gang, which is directly and constantly generating money for members of the group. up to press time it has been estimated that about seven thousand fake certificates (7,000) from the four fronts are in circulation. The puzzling question is how come Joseph Sovula, a Law Student of Njala University College, was caught in the operation of the illegal syndicate that has been descried as a racketeering kingdom for fraudsters at the Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority.
