Famous broadcasting & media production company, Radio Democracy 98.1 FM, has expressed appreciation to all who commiserated with them during the loss of DJ Lawva
The station manager of the radio station, Asmaa James, in her Facebook message said:
“Radio Democracy 98.1 FM sincerely appreciates the outpouring of love and sympathy for the loss of our colleague DJ Lawva. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. Indeed DJ Lawva was a man of peace ✌️RIP Lawvadj Lawva.”
Samuel Laverse popularly known as DJ Lawva was the President of the Sierra Leone DJ’s Union and a former announcer and DJ at Radio Democracy 98.1 FM. He was also the first Sierra Leonean and among few DJs in the sub-region that has featured in BBC 1Xtra on the Programme Destination Africa hosted by Kenyan, DJ Edu on BBC sounds.
He died on the 14th of January 2023.
The late man was well-known for his ability to mix Sierra Leonean and other African sounds seamlessly. The late DJ was elected as President of the Sierra Leone DJs Union in December 2020 at an event in Karina Complex, Kenema.
