The newly appointed Police Regional Commander of Freetown-East ACP Francis Meinday, on Tuesday 12th December 2023, at his Regional Headquarters Office, conducted a comprehensive familiarization meeting with the various Task Coordinating Group members (TCG), to establish his rules of operations in tandem with teamwork for a better policing outcome.

After a brief introduction of all members present at the meeting, ACP Meinday addressed several key issues which include, that commanders are expected to monitor their personnel posted at the various checkpoints until 6 a.m., that all LUCs are to provide a comprehensive normal roll of their personnel, that patrols are to be effective, especially at night, that the CRD and LPPB members utilize community radios and sensitizations for proactive policing and crime prevention, and that personnel should learn to complement each other’s effort to attain success.

“I am looking forward to working with everyone as a team to achieve a better and safer community for all,” ACP Meinday stated.

Among the various commanders present, ACP Esther Saffa (LUC of Eastern Police Division) on behalf of the various commanders and representatives of the four Divisions (Eastern Police, Harbour, Kissy, and Waterloo), thanked and welcomed the new Regional Commander and assured to give him full support through teamwork.

The LPPB Regional Secretary General Melbourne Greene, on behalf of his members, assured the Regional Commander of their support to work in partnership with the police to combat crime through community-oriented policing.

The Regional Commander concluded that he would soon embark on a Divisional visit to each Division within his region for further acquaintance.
