A cross-section of prominent religious leaders, legal practitioners, and community members on Tuesday offered strong support to Sheikh Abu Bakrr Kamara, who was invited to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning, in a process that witnesses described as calm and peaceful.
Among those present were the President of the Supreme Islamic Council, Alhaji Mohammed Sallieu Bah, and the President of the Council of Churches, Rev. Henry Samuels, who both attended the CID engagement as a show of solidarity and interfaith cooperation.
They were joined by Sheikh Ibrahim Barrie, an executive member of the Inter-Religious Council and National Secretary-General of the Supreme Islamic Council, along with several other respected Islamic leaders and community figures.
A team of senior lawyers, including Lawyer Mohamed Muctar Bah, Lawyer Kanneh, Lawyer Ansumana Keita, and Lawyer Conteh, were also in attendance to provide legal support.
The gathering was widely praised as a demonstration of unity within the Ummah and across faith lines, reinforcing the message that collective action and sincerity can strengthen community resilience during sensitive matters.
Observers also commended CID authorities for what was described as professional and respectful handling of the interrogation process.
