The residents of Gorama Mende Chiefdom have expressed their gratitude to President Julius Maada Bio as the parliament of Sierra Leone formally accepted Dr. Moses Tiffa Baio as the country’s new Chief Immigration Officer.

His appointment, made by His Excellency Brigadier (Rtd.) Dr. Julius Maada Bio has received praise from different groups, such as the Baio family and the people of Gorama Mende Chiefdom in Kenema District.

Dr. Baio’s appointment is viewed as a deliberate move to improve the effectiveness of Sierra Leone’s immigration system.

With his considerable expertise and academic background, there are great expectations for his leadership in addressing immigration-related issues and adopting reforms that align with the government’s developmental goal.

Following the announcement, sentiments of gratitude flooded in, notably from his home fans of Kenema, where community residents and stakeholders praised the appointment as a testament to Dr. Baio’s dedication to public service.

The Baio family also expressed gratitude to President Bio for believing in their kid. As Dr. Baio takes office, he is expected to prioritize border security, migration control, and simplifying immigration services.

His nomination is another step in President Bio’s attempts to enhance the public sector by appointing qualified individuals to important posts.
