The most outstanding candidate for the post of Deputy National Secretary General and currently a Commissioner at NATCOM, Robert Kondema Kargbo has on 23rd September, 2021 hosted a cross section of the Women’s leadership of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in Constituency 117, Kuntoloh community at the offices of his private company Heritage General Services Limited at Jones Street.
Commissioner Kargbo clearly responded to the clarion call that has been going around media circles that the ruling SLPP hierarchy has completely abandoned its grassroots supporters since they assumed office in 2018.
In his opening remarks Fofana Fofana acknowledged that he had earlier brought to the attention of Commissioner Kargbo, the plight of their suffering supporters in the Kuntoloh community most especially the women. These very strong and hard-working supporters of the ruling party had become disillusioned, disgruntled and frustrated by the lack of financial support from those who are holding various positions in the party. For this reason, they are being mocked by opposition members as not receiving any benefits in spite of their hard work. Fofana expressed gratitude to Commissioner Kargbo for swiftly responding to his request and that they were at Heritage offices today in response to the call from the Commissioner.
The popular and charismatic aspirant for the Deputy National Secretary General of the SLPP thanked God for his mercies and blessings and heaped praises on his Boss His Excellency President Bio for giving him the opportunity to serve in his current capacity.
He thanked his campaign media team headed by the dynamic and outspoken social media guru Anthony Vandy commonly known as PRO for promoting his agenda and increasing his popularity on a daily basis.
Robert Kondema Kargbo informed the women that he takes party issues very seriously and that was why when he heard about the suffering of these strong women he decided to address their needs immediately. He had decided to follow the “tok and do” mantra of President Bio. After visiting the women on Sunday the 19th of September in their constituency and listening to their stories, he made the decision to invite them to his private office.
The visitors from Kuntoloh were completely shocked and surprised when Commissioner Kargbo announced that he has provided a windfall of Seven Million Leones to be shared among the 11 women present at the occasion. To say they were extremely overjoyed is an understatement.
The recipients of this wonderful gesture were Aminata Jalloh, former District Treasurer, Hassanatu Lansana who was falsely accused of stuffing ballot boxes at the last elections and detained, Mariatu Turay, Margaret Umu Lahai, Admire Mamie Jusu, Isatu B. Kallon, Mbalia Dumbuya, Mbalu Fatmata Sesay, Kadiatu Sesay, Sarah Waritay and Adama Conteh all of whom could not contain their joy and excitement at being beneficiaries of the Commissioner’s generosity.
Aminata Jalloh expressed sincere appreciation to the Commissioner on behalf of the group and concurred that since they have been laboring for the party, no politician has ever taken the time to visit them, let alone provide such badly needed funds for them. She acquiesced that the funds received today will go a long way to alleviate their sufferings especially during this turbulent Corona period.
Before leaving the premises of Heritage, the 11 excited ladies stormed the office of the Commissioner to offer prayers for him and to further offer their profound thanks. If others within the ruling SLPP could emulate this bright exemplary leadership demonstrated by RKK as he is fondly called, there will be no doubt that support for the party would continue to grow in leaps and bounds.
