In a significant breakthrough, the Rutile Police Division, under the leadership of Local Unit Commander (LUC) Superintendent Mustapha Senesie and Assistant Superintendent of Police Operations (ASP) Amara Lansana, has successfully apprehended a group of armed robbers in Moriba Town, Imperi Chiefdom.
The operation led to the arrest of Mohamed Soker Turay, a bike rider implicated in trafficking an AK-47 rifle, along with a loaded magazine. Additional weapons, including a giant yellow-black cutter, a crowbar, and a screwdriver, were also seized during the raid. Another suspect, John Lappia from Jargboima in Bo City, was captured by the Rutile Division Police team.
Two individuals, Kadie Bangura and her mother, Salamatu Lavalie, who are believed to have hosted the armed robbers in Moriba Town, are currently on the run. The police have intensified their search for these fugitives and any other accomplices still at large.
ASP Amara Lansana, who played a key role in the operation, has vowed to eradicate criminal activities within the division’s jurisdiction. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue their efforts to bring all involved to justice.
The police urge anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the fugitives to come forward as the Rutile Division remains committed to maintaining law and order in the area.
