Conrad Sackey, Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, has endorsed a new educational project with the aim of providing pupils with digital skills so that they can take advantage of social media opportunities.
The Gbangbaode Festival School Tour & Masterclass, led by Lahai Ndoko, founder of the famed Gbangbaode Festival, aims to educate kids about the financial and career prospects that exist in the digital arena.
The program will feature interactive talks, live shows, and Q&A sessions with leading influencers and industry leaders, offering students personal experience with ethical and profitable social media use.
Minister Sackey explained the need for technological literacy in today’s rapidly changing environment, pointing out that the web is more than simply a platform for enjoyment.
He stated its value as a tool for acquiring information, job progression, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of providing young people with the skills they need to travel efficiently across these platforms.
“This initiative will introduce students to the financial benefits and opportunities within the Digital space, equipping them with the knowledge to navigate and leverage these platforms responsibly and effectively,” Minister Sackey said.
The plan is consistent with the government’s overall attempts to include digital learning into the school syllabus and educate pupils for modern employment opportunities. The Gbangbaode Festival School Tour & Masterclass is required to take place in a variety of schools, allowing students to discover the financial and professional opportunities offered through social media.
