Members of Sierra Leone Kids Parliament, led by their Director, Malvin Success Kanteh, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education Conrad Sackey at his New England Ville’s office in Freetown, Thursday, 25th July 2024.

Members of the Kids Parliament expressed their immense appreciation to the minister for his dedication and outstanding leadership.

The Minister was thrilled to hear about the Kids Parliament’s dedication to education and governance. He was pleased to meet the young Parliamentarians and express excitement to support their mission of nurturing the next generation of leaders.

He further expressed commitment to fostering an environment where young minds can thrive and contribute to the betterment of society.

He said together, they will build a brighter future for all children.

The Kids Parliament is a unique platform for children aged 10 to 16 across 22 schools nationwide, focusing on education and governance. The Kids Parliament is structured to comprise the Ruling Government – these are the first five best performers in their schools as per promotional results, the Opposition Party comprises the second set of five best performers, and the Independent Party is drawn from the two sets to create a balance. This platform allows young voices to discuss and address matters that relate to them.

The meeting turned out to be a successful and inspiring one.
