Former Presidential Candidate of Sierra Leone’s Opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Samura Kamara has made an earnest plea to all citizens, urging them to unite and recommit themselves to the honourable task of building a transformed Sierra Leone.

In a message addressed to Christians and Muslims, Kamara highlighted the significance of Lent, Easter, and Ramadan, describing them as seasons of self-examination, penitence, and strengthened faith.

He expressed appreciation for the dedication and devotion demonstrated by believers of both faiths during these sacred periods. Kamara emphasized the themes of self-reflection, forgiveness, and communal unity that are central to these observances.

Addressing Christian brothers and sisters, Kamara extended wishes for the joy of the resurrection to continue illuminating their hearts and minds, fostering hope, strength, and gratitude. Similarly, he conveyed blessings to Muslim brothers and sisters, wishing for the holy month of Ramadan to infuse their lives with compassion, generosity, and spiritual fulfillment.

Reflecting on the lessons imparted by these holy events, Kamara called for the virtues of love, peace, and unity to be carried forward. “Let us carry forward the virtues of love, peace, and unity that these holy events embody,” Kamara urged.

He emphasized the importance of cherishing diversity and strengthening mutual respect and understanding among communities, ensuring that differences do not impede shared prosperity and coexistence within Sierra Leone’s society.

Kamara concluded his message with a call for renewed commitment to national development. He called for a “transformed Sierra Leone” built on “passion, tolerance, respect, and empathy for each other.”
