The Presidential Candidate for the All People’s Congress (APC) in the 2023 Elections, Dr. Samura Kamara has welcomed the new United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan Hunt.

He expressed an open gesture in working with the Ambassador to push the development of Sierra Leone forward as well as other areas that may seem necessary for inclusion. He maintained that, as a party, they remain committed to upholding the dictates of democracy at all times and preach messages of peace and cohesion.

 “Welcome to Sierra Leone, United States Ambassador Bryan Hunt USEmbFreetown. As leaders of the APC, we look forward to working with you as we strive to re-ignite the Re construction effort in post-war Sierra Leone to build a future of lasting peace, unity and social justice for all.

“An enviable future anchored on sustained national prosperity and wellbeing above political and tribal leanings. We remain committed to upholding the democratic values that the United States and the rest of the democratic world hold,” Kamara said in a Tweet on his official Twitter page.

Bryan David Hunt was publicly sworn-in as the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Sierra Leone on August 23, 2023. He replaced David Reimer who was appointed as United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Sierra Leone on January 19, 2021.

Prior to his current appointment, Ambassador Hunt served as Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to the U.S. Transportation Command from July 2022 to July 2023. He served as Office Director for South Sudan and Sudan in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of African Affairs from August 2019 to July 2022 and concurrently as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Africa and the Sudans from January 2021 to October 2021.
