Sierra Leone’s Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has been awarded the Best Minister in the World.
He was awarded today, 14 February 2023, at the ongoing World Summit in Dubai United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The 10th Edition of the World Government Summit (WGS) opened in Dubai on Monday under the Slogan “Shaping future Governments”.
Minister Sengeh was among ten other ministers, who were nominated after a global survey was conducted through social media, a jury of international experts and key international organisations and the private sector to select the winner.
After receiving the Award, Sengeh expressed his appreciation for the recognition.
He added that this would help to motivate school going pupils in Sierra Leone and all other stakeholders to do more.
“When everyone is included and when we use technology to provide solutions for our students, everyone gets better. So, as we innovated and solve problems within the education system, we must think about those who are most excluded because when we build systems that works for them, everyone, benefits,” he stated.
Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Rulerof Dubai presented the award to him.
The World Government Summit which runs to February 15, was first launched in the UAE in 2014. It served for innovative solutions to complex regional problems.
The event is held under the direction of Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.
