The Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, David Moinina Sengeh, last weekend visited Bo City to restore peace between the Bo City Council and the Bo Traders Union.

Recently, there have been clusters of events where the two parties battled because of misunderstandings and disagreements.

Also, there had been mounting tensions between the City Council administration and members of the trader’s union as the two parties had issues over trivial matters that could have otherwise spiraled into some unexpected outcomes, save for the timely intervention of the Chief Minister.

These lapses cause many market people to lose their business when the Police intervene to settle the dispute.

The Chief Minister has taken it as his responsibility to settle this and he chose the weekend to do it. Sengeh was able to conclude the reconciliation dialogue amongst the Mayor of the Bo City Council, the Deputy Mayor, the Chief Administrator, Elected Councillors, and the Executive of the Bo Traders Union.

At the end of the dialogue, all parties saw the need to work in unity for the growth and development of Bo City and the country at large. “When it comes to work and service delivery, we spare no weekends,” He said.
