The National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NC3) has launched a public awareness campaign to inform citizens that sharing intimate images without consent constitutes a serious criminal offense in Sierra Leone.

The campaign, part of the broader National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign, focuses on the dangers of non-consensual sharing and the severe legal consequences that follow.

NC3 emphasized that “No woman should be threatened, shamed, or controlled through her private images.” The campaign’s core message is built around three principles: Protect Privacy, Respect Boundaries, and Report Abuse.

The NC3 is urging victims of non-consensual sharing or those being threatened with image distribution to “speak up,” assuring the public that help and support are available. The campaign highlights the need for continued vigilance and reporting to curb this form of digital abuse.
