Women in Kenema from various political parties have participated in a one day Media Engagement by the Sierra Leone Association of Women In Journalism {SLAWIJ] with support from UN Women through Irish Aid at Karima Hall, Kenema City .

The group included women who are currently holding political positions and those aspiring for the 2023 elections. They appreciated SLAWIJ for the meeting and said the media has been bias when it comes to coverage of women vying for positions of trust.

Mrs. Mary Wuyatta Karimu one of the Member of Parliament aspirants in the 2018 election blamed the media for bad press which she said counted against her. All the women called on SLAWIJ to give women fair coverage in the forthcoming elections
