A video circulating on Facebook showing the deplorable state of the toilet at the Sierra Leone Immigration Office has caused a stir on social media. The video, narrated by an unidentified individual, depicts a toilet overflowing with garbage, a filthy floor, and an overall unsanitary condition.

The immigration office is responsible for matters relating to immigration such as the issuance of passports and other traveling documents, visas, and resident permits, and regulates the movement of people in and out of the country.

The images and video circulated online depict a dilapidated infrastructure, overflowing sewage, and overall unhygienic conditions, prompting an outcry from the public regarding the lack of basic amenities and proper maintenance.

Amara Lucky Conteh expressed disbelief, comparing the Immigration office’s restroom to the “more decent” toilet facilities at the mental home. “How the place fiba dorti his so, even krase yard get decent toilet facility pass this one.” She wrote.

Damish Nastradamus also voiced cynicism, suggesting that government officials prioritize embezzlement over maintaining the very spaces where they receive public funds.

In response to the public outcry, calls have been made for urgent action to address the deplorable state of the toilet facility and to ensure that basic sanitary standards are met within government premises.
