The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Jiwoh Emmanuel Abdulai and the Ambassador to France Mr. Mohamed Kanja Sesay, today held high-level discussions with a group of international investors in Paris, France.

The meeting brought together investors from a range of sectors including infrastructure, renewable energy, logistics and handling.

During the meeting, Minister Abdulai reaffirmed His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio’s commitment to broad-based economic growth and highlighted the government’s focus on human capital development, to build a large skilled and highly productive, as the foundation for sustained economic growth.

The Minister and the Ambassador encouraged the investors to explore new opportunities in infrastructure, renewable energy and logistics, whilst promoting opportunities in agriculture and transportation.

They also encouraged potential entrants to consider Sierra Leone as a strategic entry point into the West African and wider African markets, noting the country’s improving business environment and regional connectivity.

Several of the investors are already active in Sierra Leone and are now exploring opportunities to expand their operations. Others expressed a strong interest in entering the Sierra Leonean market and sought guidance on how to engage effectively with government stakeholders.

Discussions were positive and forward-looking, with investors expressing plans to undertake an investment tour of Sierra Leone before the end of the year.

The meeting forms part of the government’s broader strategy to attract and grow sustainable investment across key sectors of the economy.
