The Judiciary of Sierra Leone has officially terminated its contract with the G4S security agency, effective May 31, 2025.
This decision follows the judiciary’s choice not to renew the agency’s yearly contract for security services at the main law court building on Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown.
Chief Justice Komba Kamanda, the administrative head of the Judiciary, made the decision to end the contract, which was initially established by former Chief Justice Hon. Babatunde Edward upon his appointment in 2018.
G4S has provided security services at the law court building in collaboration with the Sierra Leone police.
