The Government of Sierra Leone has signed a financing agreement to initiate the reconstruction of the Mabang-Moyamba-Gbangbatoke corridor, a major infrastructure project aimed at boosting regional connectivity.
The deal, finalized yesterday at the Ministry of Finance, was signed by the acting Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kadiatu Allie, and the Minister of Works and Public Assets, Dr. Denis Sandy.
The project, to be executed by Burkina Faso-based construction firm SIETRA, marks a significant development in President Julius Maada Bio’s national infrastructure agenda.
Key attendees at the signing included the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Madam Kenyeh Barlay, Director General of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA), Ing. Momodu, and Paramount Chief Caulker of Rotifunk, among others.
The contract is expected to be finalized next week, with SIETRA set to mobilize equipment and begin earthworks shortly after. The project will improve road conditions in the Mabang, Moyamba, and Gbangbatoke regions, enhancing transportation and fostering economic growth.
This initiative underscores the Bio administration’s commitment to delivering sustainable infrastructure projects that drive national development.
