The Government of Sierra Leone is set to host over 80 international education policy, technical and development partners, and seven ministers of Education for different countries for two days in the 1st Foundational Learning Exchange on the 6-7th February 2023.

In his statement, the Minister of Education said that the summit will be the second major international and inter-ministerial summit that will be hosted by the country through the Ministry of Education as part of plans to widen international cooperation and bilateral developments.

’The Freetown Manifesto was developed in the gender-transformative leadership workshop which brought together ministers and senior government officials from 13 African countries’’, he said.

In explaining the composition of the summit. the minister said the heads of global institutions like the UNESCO Institute of Statistics, the World Bank’s Global Education Director, and Founders and heads of several private foundations will witness the summit for meaningful contributions and sectorial development plans.
