The Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) has on press release issued assured the general public that there is sufficient fuel in the country and the pump price remain unchanged.

The press release was issued following rumours that there’s scarcity og fuel in the country, leading people to queue in filling stations across the country, with some buying in increased prices from black marketers.

According to PRA the maximum pump price for fuel remain Le12,000 per liter nationwide and there should be no tendency for panic buying.

“It is obvious that the ongoing crisis in Europe is breeding speculations, fear and uncertainties among oil-importing nations because of the current sporadic oil prices and supply depletion,” the Agency stated.

PRA added that, “Sierra Leone still maintain sufficient petroleum stock levels and the pump price remain unchanged.”

As the Global economy faces this unprecedented threat in recent times, the Agency urged all petroleum operators to remain committed to their regulatory obligations in their service delivery to their valued customers.

Yesterday, representatives of Oil Marketing Companies and other stakeholders met with the Chief Minister on and assurances were given that there is no shortage of products in the country.
