Sierra Leone’s leading digital media company, Sierraloaded has on Sunday 1st January 2022 fed patients and staff of Macauley Street Hospital in Freetown.
Sub section of Team Sierraloaded donated cooked food, soft drinks and water to all the patients and staff present at the hospital.
According to the Team Lead of Sierraloaded, Morlai Ibrahim Kamara, the donation was part of the company’s effort to give back to country, especially to the sick and less privileged on New Year’s Day.
He disclosed that they chose Macauley Street Hospital because it is one of the government hospitals in the country that has been offering life saving treatments to poor and ordinary citizens that cannot afford the expenditure of private hospitals.
Amara Turay, the Community Health Officer (CHO) expressed profound thanks and appreciation to Sierraloaded for feeding their patients and staff.
He said that it is thoughtful and considerate decision by the company to donate food and drinks to their patients, noting that “food and drinks are the essence of life.”
Theresa Mansaray, a nurse at the hospital also expressed profound thanks and appreciation to Sierraloaded for the donations.
She noted that the hospital has over the years been faced with logistics and other form of challenges. She went on to call on the government and other goodwill organizations to also come on board and help them with some of the things they are constrained with.
Julliana Sannoh, a patient at the hospital said that she is happy to receive the food and drinks, noting that she has been facing constraints to feed herself.
She added that she has spent all of her money on her medication and treatments.
Sannoh called on government to help the hospital with medicines and make them affordable for poor patients like her.
It’s great to see Sierraloaded SL Limited taking action to give back to government hospital and provide assistance to Patients in need. Providing meals to those who may not have access to them can make a big difference in their daily lives and improve their overall well-being. It’s also wonderful to see staff members volunteering their time to serve food and drinks to those in need. This type of community involvement and charitable work is important as a means to give back to society.
