The Sierra Leone Union of Postal and Telecommunication Employee (SLUPEE) has, on the 24th August, 2021, issued a twenty-one day strike notice to the management of SIERRATEL over the non-payment of salary for three months, incomplete payment of 2020 leave allowances, non payment of 2021 leave allowances, non-payment of NASSIT contributions for two years among many others.
SLUPEE warned that if their concerns are not addressed in twenty one days, starting 24th August, 2021, their workers will go on strike.
The Union explained that even after several consultations and stakeholder engagements, the concerns of their workers are still unresolved, noting that they will resort to strike action should their twelve concerns not addressed at the expiration of the ultimatum.
