Dr. Simon Owizz Koroma, Sierra Leone’s only forensic pathologist, has revealed that he does not own a personal vehicle and often relies on a kekeh to travel to work, highlighting both the challenges and dedication of professionals in the country.

Speaking on the Epic Morning Show, Dr. Koroma explained that the only official vehicle previously assigned to him a police van used for transporting bodies during exhumations and other forensic duties is currently in the garage. This leaves him without a dedicated vehicle for daily commuting.

He shared that for the interview, Epic Radio staff had to pick him up from his home, yet he emphasized that the lack of a personal car does not hinder his commitment to his work.

“I love my work,” Dr. Koroma said, underlining his passion for forensic science and its role in supporting Sierra Leone’s justice system.

Despite the logistical challenges, Dr. Koroma continues to perform his duties diligently, demonstrating that professional dedication often goes beyond convenience or resources. His candid revelation also sheds light on the realities faced by specialists in critical fields in the country, balancing limited resources with the demands of public service.

Dr. Koroma’s story has resonated with many Sierra Leoneans, serving as both an inspiring example of dedication and a reminder of the need to support professionals in essential sectors.
