The Board and Management of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) is hiring the service of Nigerian grounds Consultant, Musa Yemi, to help with the construction of pitches at different locations to help develop the nature of the game.
The grounds construction initiative is part of efforts geared towards developing the high performance structure of SLCA and improve the level and standard of playing to catch up with international best standards at all times.
The locations ranged from Fourah Bay College, Njala University (Mokonde Campus) and Sussex respectively. The idea came from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the SLCA and the Nigeria Cricket Federation in November 2021 during the Nigeria International Bilateral Series.
The contractor, is to fly home together with the Ladies Patriots to conduct visibility studies on the identified grounds as mentioned above as well as advise the Board on the need to get state-of-the-art cricket grounds.
He is to travel with some equipment to start pitch construction in his three-week first visit and upon his next coming later in May when the rains will have started, Consultant Yemi will help the outfields during the best time of the meadows.
