The Director General of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA), Madam Musayeroh Barrie, has been presented with the Africa Women Leadership Impact Award during the launch of the Africa Women Summit UK.

The event brought together leaders, diplomats, and women changemakers from across Africa and the diaspora to celebrate exceptional contributions to leadership and societal transformation.

In her remarks, Madam Barrie expressed gratitude for the honor, describing it as a recognition of perseverance and purpose. She dedicated the award to women striving to overcome challenges and make meaningful change in their communities.

Appointed in August 2023, Madam Barrie made history as the first female and youngest Director General of the SLCAA. Since assuming office, she has introduced reforms to strengthen Sierra Leone’s aviation sector, focusing on enhancing regulatory oversight, safety standards, and capacity building.

Her leadership has also seen major milestones, including the relaunch of Air Sierra Leone and the resumption of direct flights between Freetown and London Gatwick.

Madam Barrie credited her achievements to the unwavering support of her family and colleagues, reaffirming her commitment to advancing aviation excellence and empowering women in leadership.
