On Tuesday 3rd January 2023, a joint team that comprised personnel from the Eastern Police Station, Harbour Police Division, and Metropolitan personnel of the Freetown City Council, conducted a sensitization tour along the newly constructed Hillside Bypass Road where some community people have built kiosks or makeshift structure along the flanks of the road for commercial purposes.
The said road which is not yet 100% completed is faced with a developing problem wherein some local people are busy constructing stalls along the road.
Sensitizing the people along the road, the metropolitan commander admonished the people to refrain from building stalls and also urged them to stop and remove their stalls.
Most of the people complied with the instructions of the commanders by removing their kiosks from the prohibited zones.
However, when the youths at Gaza, along Mountain Cut, started showing some form of lawlessness and disorderly behavior, the police and city council team professionally executed their duties without having altercations but rather focused on attaining success.
The Eastern Police team was led by ASP Clarkson Momoh; the Harbour Police Division was led by ASP Mohamed Mansaray, and the City Council team was led by Chief Superintendent Albert Simbo (Director of Operations).
