The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) recently met in Makeni to develop strategic messages about the report’s key findings.

Organized by the International Republican Institute (IRI) with the Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MoICE) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI), the sessions were held in Makeni and Bo, covering various regions.

The meetings aimed to create messages focused on Electoral Management, Institutional Reform, and Legal Reform. These messages will be communicated through various channels to different audiences.

IRI Resident Director, Jimmy Sankaituah, highlighted the institute’s commitment to aligning reforms with international standards. Key institutions like the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (EC-SL), and USAID were involved in the discussions.

Attendees, guided by Dr. Francis Sowa, were grouped to develop targeted messages for diverse groups, including political parties, women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The sessions aimed to shape public discourse and support reforms to improve Sierra Leone’s political and electoral systems.
