The Young Generation Council of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) which was established following the review of the party’s constitution in 2020 has ended a two-day Annual National Youths Conference in Kenema.
In his keynote address, the National Young Generation Leader, Francis Alpha Kallon acknowledged President Bio’s commitment to this council and ask for an estimated 30% inclusion of young people in Government.
In his statement to all present, Hindolo Francis Barnett, the Regional Young Generation Leader North America highlighted the gains made so far by the new direction of government to improve the lives of Citizens of Sierra Leone which included; the Free Quality of School Education, National Cohesion, Youth development, Infrastructure, Road Safety, Transportation, Foreign direct investment, Tourism, International support and lots more worth commending for sustainable development.
Barnett added that these advancements have inspired a youthful generation and appreciated President Bio for including young people at the helm of affairs in our governance structure.
Mr Barnett appreciated the National Young Generation Council leadership for the courageous and visionary leadership and commit continued engagement in working towards the Re-election of President Bio for another successful term.
He noted that President Bio has made a mark in Sierra Leone ranging from, sexual offences act, repeal of criminal libel laws, and cyber-crime laws ensuring the sexual offence act, fostering human capital development, increasing our public diplomacy achievements internationally and locally, making the case for the Africa-UN Security council seat and vying for it.
In conclusion, he acknowledged youth development projects such as youth in Agriculture, fisheries, and car wash projects to name but a few and confirmed that all these are successful gains which they will be proud of and more as a party.
