The two main political parties in Sierra Leone, the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party and the main opposition, All People’s Congress (APC) will battle today in the Parliamentary and Local Council bye elections in four Districts.
According to the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone, polls will be closed in respective districts at 5 pm, and counting will be done at every Polling Stations.
“The results will be tallied at the following Tally Centres on Sunday, 26th June 2022;
1. Local Council bye election in Ward 138, Falaba District and Parliamentary Bye-election in Constituency 056 in Tonkolili District – Tonkolili District Council Hall in Magburaka.
2. Local Council bye elections in Wards 212 and 216 in Karene and Ward 252 in Port Loko District – Port Loko District Council Hall in Port Loko.
3. Local Council bye election in Ward 031, Kenema District – Sierra Leone Teachers Union Hall in Kenema,” ECSL stated.
The Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairman, Mohamed Kenewui Konneh will on Tuesday 28th June 2022 at 9 : 30 am announce the certified results of the Parliamentary and Local Council bye elections at the ECSL Headquarters in Freetown.
