The Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) Bombali Branch has successfully concluded two days of impactful engagement, wrapping up 2024 with events highlighting its commitment to community service, equality, and social justice.
The program commenced with a certificate ceremony that welcomed 51 new volunteers into the Red Cross family. These volunteers, representing various communities across the Bombali District, have completed extensive training to prepare them for responding to crises and emergencies. The certification underscores the organization’s ongoing mission to build capacity and strengthen community resilience.
The engagement continued with the Annual Jogging Event, themed “Ending Inequality,” which brought together diverse participants, including Red Cross members, volunteers, and Sierra Leone Scouts. The event, held at the Makeni Branch office, celebrated unity and the Red Cross’s dedication to addressing social disparities.
Participants, ranging from youth to seniors, embraced the event’s inclusive spirit, demonstrating the vibrancy of the Red Cross movement. The jogging event served as a rallying cry for equality and social justice, key principles of the organization’s humanitarian mission.
“These gatherings not only celebrate our accomplishments but also reaffirm our shared commitment to unity and compassion,” said an SLRCS representative.
The events marked the culmination of a year of service while emphasizing the collective impact achieved through community-driven initiatives.
