The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in Sierra Leone has provided a significant boost to the country’s school feeding program.
A donation of 2,400 tons of rice was officially handed over to the World Food Programme (WFP).
This generous contribution is expected to benefit over 106,000 school children across 500 schools throughout Sierra Leone throughout the coming academic year.
The rice donation will provide vital nourishment for students, promoting their well-being and education.
The WFP has expressed its gratitude for the support from the Republic of Korea. This contribution is sure to have a lasting positive impact on the lives of countless students in Sierra Leone.
The last time rice was donated for school children, that time by China, Maada Bio’s right hand man, David Francis who was then the Chief Minister, stole the rice. He is obviously no longer in office and that may have been the reason, but he remained in office for a long while after that and no public mention was made of him being punished for it. Obvious corruption, he admitted to it, he said he sold the rice so he could buy a school buy for a football team, but he was never charged. Who will Bio let steal the rice and deprive children of food this time?
