Sierra Leone Standards Bureau has refuted claims which states that the popular herbal products, Coco Samba and Oga Ar Beg, have gone through their Testing process and passed.

Standards Bureau informed in a public notice that it has neither received payment nor samples of these Products for testing in their Testing Laboratories.

It went on to state that they are surprised to learn that certain individuals are claiming to have paid and submitted samples of the said products which have conformed to prescribed national standards at Sierra Leone Standards Bureau.

Standards Bureau referred to the claim as baseless, adding that it is a tactic used to mislead and lure the public into accepting the product.

It further stated that although it would have cherished the opportunity, as always, to be of service to the Importers and Dealers of Coco Samba and related products, the conduct of laboratory tests on drugs and medicinal products falls within the remits of the Pharmacy Board.

It therefore directed the dealers of Coco Samba, Oga Ar beg and other related products to liaise with Pharmacy Board for the conduct of the required test, noting that they are the Institutions with the statutory mandate to deal with drug related matters.
